A Marine Ecology Seminar
This is a great opportunity for you to get acquainted with pristine underwater habitats, spot your ecosystem-health indicators, create your own ecological maps, and help us collect useful information about the biodiversity of the Mediterranean seascapes.
This 4-day seminar will involve 4 dives as first attempts to understand how numerous organisms are able to survive and even thrive in a world where humans have only recently gained access: the marine environment.
Non-qualified scuba divers are also welcome, as the study of the coastal geomorphology and the ecological mapping are easy tasks for everyone who's interested.
Species diversity is not just a quizzical composition of shapes, colors and oddities. It is also an amazing source of information about the environmental conditions that characterize and form each and every seascape.
All organisms have special needs and functions and by their presence and abundance they can give us eloquent signs of well-being, stress or disturbance.
Starting with the basics our environmentalist will guide you through principles of marine ecology, species identification and ecological monitoring of marine sites.
Being a PADI Rescue Diver and having logged more than 200 scientific and recreational dives, she's eager to take you for a wet stroll into the discreet beauty of the inspiring Mediterranean Marine Realm.
Learn how to read between biodiversity lines, listen to the language of the sea and get to understand the particularities of the Mediterranean dialect.
* Please note that we also organise private seminars upon demand.
